Dialogue and Debate

An illustrative list of public events aimed at encouraging dialogue and debate around Section 377 organized, conducted or supported by Voices Against 377 is as under:

February 23, 2006: Lesbian and Gay Human Rights in India: International and Comparative Perspectives, Causarina Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Speakers and Panelists included Akshay Khanna (Voices Against 377), Kirti Singh (Advocate), Prashant Bhushan, (Advocate), and Prof. Robert Wintemute (School of Law, King’s College London, UK).

January 29, 2006: Criminalization of Sodomy and Human Rights Violations in India, Workshop for Beyond Borders, British Council Division, New Delhi.

December 17, 2005: Criminalization of Sodomy and Human Rights Violations in India, Women’s Development Cell, Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, New Delhi.

November 25, 2005: Criminalization of Sodomy and Human Rights Violations in India, Naripokkho, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

November 12, 2005: Gender and Sexuality in India: Recognizing Connections, Building Politics, AMAN Trust, New Delhi.
